hand work

In the winter, this happens:

That's knitting in the round on needles in size 1. Trust me. Its small.

So that means my hands are ready for spring, and growing.

And what needs to happen before harvest can happen: weeding. We harvest pounds and pounds at a time. No one wants to find something they didn't purchase in with what they requested. So beds are cleared before harvest.

This week, its all about the spinach. It will be for a few weeks, when asparagus will be added to the mix.

And my hands? Feel great. My back? A little sunburned actually, just the strip above the waistband, a different sort of farmers tan is underway.

Sign up for our weekly vegetable email on our website, www.sunnysidefarmpa.com

If you see things available that you would like to order, you go back to the same website to place an order.

Its still in early phases, so let us know if we need to change anything to make it easier to use. If you are in a hurry, you can order and pay in advance, then pickup and run. If you prefer you can order and select a pay at pickup option. We can focus on growing and you can get exactly what you need each week, go on vacation and not worry about pickup, and order in bulk for canning, freezing, drying, or fermenting.

We grow heirloom varieties and use compost as our fertilizer. No herbicide, insecticide, fungicide, pesticides. And we never will.
