snow effect

We know it gets below freezing around here. Usually around mid-October. As farmers we are always trying to stretch our growing season as long as we can, fresh vegetables are just..better!

All of the beds covered with fabric row covers are fine. But the peppers, eggplant and basil have turned to slime. We only had a few eggplant and pepper plants..seems someone (the farmer's wife) thought they were weeds and pulled them. No wonder we have never handed them out. Next year we got this.

The sage is beautiful. And the green is visible through the fabric..lots growing under there. Winter eats.
