Some days we find surprises on the farm. And other days our work crew surprises us!
We have American gothic here, pigs and all. The vegetable beds on the side of the hoophouse facing the house are cleared of weeds with the beds planted and row covers on most everything. The far side will also get cleared this week, and when the garlic arrives in the next few weeks it will fill in several beds. Chervil, lettuces, kale, spinach and peas are also going in the ground. Bug free it is a wonderful time to be planting. And one good thing about this much rain: the weeds pull right from the ground. Then fed to the pigs (an important part of the work crew) and poof they are gone!
That is a very healthy garter snake. Seems like I always saw them little, slim and small. Must be good eats out there..and our mole problem has vanished!
